Big names from Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham are among some surprise packages when it comes to the Premier League’s top 10 chance creators in 2024-25.
The numbers don’t lie. Some of the top players in the English top flight are proving true to their reputations by consistently creating goalscoring opportunities. But there are also some less heralded players you might not expect to see.
Here are the 10 players who have registered the most ‘key passes’ (the final pass before a team-mate shoots at goal) in the Premier League so far this season.
=9. Leif Davis – 61
The Ipswich full-back created 125 chances in the Championship last season, which was more than any other player in the league.
He didn’t quite reach those same numbers this time, but 61 key passes is still hugely impressive, especially considering he spent all season in the relegation zone.
=9. Youri Tielemans – 61
Tielemans keeps things ticking over in midfield for Aston Villa and he’s also been their top chance creator with 61 key passes.
From a creative standpoint, it’s been his best season to date. Prior to this year, the most chances he ever created in a season was 54 for Leicester City in the 2019-20 campaign.
=7. Mikkel Damsgaard – 63
Often overshadowed by the likes of Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo, Damsgaard has been just as vital in their rise up the Premier League this season.
Ten of his 63 key passes have been converted into assists – the most of any Brentford this season.
=7. Martin Odegaard – 63
On average, the Arsenal captain has created a chance every 37 minutes this season. That’s a better record than all but three of the players on this list.
The Gunners don’t quite look the same without Odegaard, who’s missed eight league matches this season.

6. Dejan Kulusevski – 65
Despite creating 65 chances for his teammates, Kulusevski ended the 2024-25 campaign with just four assists.
No fewer than eight of these 65 chances created were in Tottenham’s big 3-0 victory over Manchester United back in December.
Christian Eriksen is the only player to have ever created more for Spurs in a single league match on record.
5. Bryan Mbeumo – 70
The Brentford forward has enjoyed his most productive season to date with an impressive 20 goals and seven assists to his name.
Along with being a sharp-shooter around the box, he’s also been Brentford’s chief chance creator with 70 key passes throughout the season.
With that sort of record, there’s bound to be plenty of interest in him this summer.
4. Enzo Fernandez – 79
Fernandez has been one of Chelsea’s standout players throughout 2024-25, but Enzo Maresca thinks that he’ll be even better next season.
“He’s one of the captains, he’s one of the leaders,” Maresca said when discussing the midfielder.
“This season he has been very good. He can be even better next season, starting from the first day. Nothing to say about speculation. His focus is on us and this is the most important thing.”
=2. Mohamed Salah – 89
Liverpool’s Egyptian King ended the 2024-25 campaign with 18 league assists – the most of any player in Europe’s top five leagues.
At one stage, he looked almost certain to break the Premier League assist record of 20 assists in a season, which is currently held by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne.
However, after failing to register an assist in any of his final six matches, he just fell short of the record.
Arsenal's Dennis Bergkamp during the thumping victory over Everton in the Premier League match at Highbury, London, May 2005.

=2. Cole Palmer – 89
Since the start of 2025, Palmer has only registered two assists in the Premier League, but he’s still been creating chances on a regular basis.
While his assist numbers have dried up in 2025, there can be no doubt that the Chelsea playmaker ranks among the top chance creators in England.
1. Bruno Fernandes – 91
While Manchester United have fallen far below expectations in 2024-25, Fernandes has still been producing chances at a seriously impressive rate.
Although only nine of his 88 key passes were converted into assists, perhaps highlighting United’s lack of cutting edge in the final third.
