Over the past few months, FC Barcelona have been on a renewal spree, tying down players to new deals to secure their future at the club.
The likes of Ronald Araujo, Pedri, Gavi, Inigo Martinez, Raphinha, and even manager Hansi Flick have all penned new deals with the new La Liga champions since the turn of the year.
Marc Casado next
Now, according to SPORT, Marc Casado is set to extend his contract with Barcelona until 30 June 2030, as the club aims to secure the long-term future of one of its most promising players.
The midfielder’s current deal runs until 2028, following a renewal signed in June 2024. However, both the club and the player have already begun negotiations to add two more years to his agreement.
Casado enjoyed his breakthrough season with Barça this term, emerging as one of Hansi Flick’s most reliable players even though his involvement on the pitch declined notably in the second half of the campaign due to injuries and competition for places.

Following his return from injury, Casado did not play any part in Barcelona’s final four La Liga games even after the league title was secured following the win over RCD Espanyol.
Full trust in Casado
However, this lack of minutes was not due to any loss of trust in Casado. On the contrary, Flick and the club have total confidence in him. The decision not to risk him was made to ensure he could start pre-season in optimal condition.
The injury was not considered extremely serious, but the two-month recovery period for a partial ligament tear was significant enough to warrant caution.
Deco and the sporting management have made it clear that they see Casado as an essential part of the team’s future.
Talks for his contract extension are progressing positively, with all parties aligned and eager to finalise the new deal before the start of pre-season on 13 July. In fact, the renewal could be wrapped up in the coming days.
Casado is fully on board with the proposal, which will place him on equal terms with other key figures in Flick’s squad. The new contract will tie him to Barcelona until 30 June 2030.
