Aston Villa’s pace and dynamism have been key to their successes under Unai Emery in recent years, but midfielder Amadou Onana believes the Villans let go of an all-timer in the speed department.
Unai Emery’s side ended the Premier League season miserably. Villa lost out on Champions League football via a 2-0 loss at Old Trafford to Manchester United.
That said, the season can still be deemed a roaring success. The Villans experienced Champions League knockout stages and will have memories for a lifetime.

A lot of that was down to their attackers performing when it mattered. The likes of speedsters Ollie Watkins, Marcus Rashford and Leon Bailey all made differences in vital games. That said, there’s always someone quicker.
Amadou Onana says that now Fulham winger Adama Traore is the fastest footballer to ever exist.
When tasked with ranking the Premier League’s fastest players, Onana said: “I think personally that Adama Traore is the fastest player that’s ever existed. Probably!”
Traore is known for his blistering speed, but to be the fastest footballer ever is one fabulous compliment from Onana.
Villa once had Traore’s signature. The Spaniard arrived at Villa for around £7m in August 2015 but made just 11 league appearances for the club, who at the time were in the Championship.
He scored just one goal for the Villans, netting in the 5-3 League Cup victory over Notts County shortly after arriving at the club.
Because of this, the then 20-year-old joined Middlesbrough just a year after arriving at Villa Park from Barcelona.

How quick is Adama Traore?
According to the aforementioned video, Traore’s top speed ever has been clocked at 36.64km/h.
But he isn’t the quickest man in the Premier League this season. That title goes to Tottenham Hotspur’s Europa League hero, Micky van de Ven.
Player Top speed (km/h)
Micky van de Ven (TOT) 37.1
Matheus Nunes (MCI) 36.7
Bryan Mbeumo (BRE) 36.6
Yankuba Minteh (BHA) 36.4
Anthony Elanga (NFO) 36.2

Lightning fast. You wouldn’t want to get in a footrace with any of the following – that’s for sure.
