Joan Garcia has emerged as the hottest topic in the Barcelona circle lately, as the goalkeeper has emerged as the club’s first major target for the coming summer.
Barcelona have already presented an offer to Garcia, who has a release clause in his contract worth €25 million.
However, recent reports indicate that Garcia might not prefer a move to Barcelona as he has also received offers from the Premier League.
Garcia hasn’t closed the door on Barcelona
A recent report from Gerard Romero has offered an update on Barcelona’s pursuit of Joan Garcia this summer.
Romero confirms that Garcia has received an offer from Barcelona. But a final decision has not been made yet.

Garcia has not closed the door on a move to Camp Nou. In fact, he cannot completely disregard Barça’s offer as it is a very attractive one, both from a sporting and financial perspective.
However, what is causing the problem is the social aspect of the move. His association as an Espanyol player means the move to Barcelona will likely attract a lot of hate from his current set of supporters.
Garcia is hesitant to come to Barcelona because he knows his family and the close circles he lives in could be at risk of facing hostility from Espanyol supporters.
Romero even suggests that Garcia would have already become a Barcelona player in a day or two if he were playing his trade for Rayo Vallecano or any other club.
Keeping that in mind, the goalkeeper may require a couple of more days to get his head in the right place and consider all the social aspects and implications of a potential move to Barcelona.
