As if his first NFL offseason wasn't already eventful enough, Jacksonville Jaguars rookie Travis Hunter decided to sneak in his first big win as a pro over the weekend.
No, it didn't happen on the football field, either. Hunter had the pleasure of marrying his fiancé Leanna Lenee in what looked like a joyous, beautiful Saturday night full of friends and family.
Travis and Leanna began dating back in high school. Ultimately, she followed him to both Jackson State and then Colorado and, of course, was by his side when he was drafted no. 2 overall to the Jaguars.
Travis Hunter's rookie purchases officially look the part
After being drafted, Hunter was quoted saying his first rookie purchase was a pair of Jaguars pajama pants.
But, he had bigger and better things in mind for his bride-to-be come time for their wedding.
Saturday afternoon, when they had celebrated their big day, Hunter surprised his wife with a brand-new Mercedes G-Wagon.
One day, it's pajama pants. The next, it's a fully-loaded Mercedes likely nearing a $200,000 price tag.
The pajama pants made him feel a whole lot more like just a normal, everyday guy. But, the Mercedes? Now, we're talking. There it is. That's the big purchase fans had been expecting.
For some, it's a house for mom. For others, it's a nice car or home for themselves. But, for Hunter, it was a nice car for his wife. What a guy.
As for his life back on the football field, Hunter and the Jaguars are now in the middle of OTAs with a few more practices being lined up through the first week of June. He's already had a chance to show his skills as a receiver, although some are a little anxious over the initial reps on video.
It's still early, though. Hopefully, the momentum from his weekend wedding and festivities can carry over onto the practice field in the near future and give fans less reason for worry.
