Federico Chiesa said that the support he has received from Liverpool's supporters is "amazing" as he spoke during Liverpool's open-top bus parade through the city.
Chiesa has barely played for the Reds since joining from Juventus last summer, but is a firm favorite among supporters and has even got his own song.
Sang to the tune of ‘Sway’ by Dean Martin, the chant goes: "We can hear them crying in Turin; Federico, he’s here to win; one chat with Arne Slot and he said 'ciao; f--- off Juve, I’m a Kopite now!'”
Chiesa was asked about the chant on Monday and said: "The song... I have to thank the fans for that. I didn't play that much this season but to receive that support from the fans is just amazing. I have to thank them, and the song has a good tune!
"I'm so proud of the team. when I first came here they immediately made me feel like part of the team, they supported me during the tough time I had this year. I have to thank them all. I'm a teammate! I'm one of the boys. even in training I tried to give my best."
