Arsenal have added Brighton winger Kaoru Mitoma to their summer transfer shortlist, Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has revealed.
The Gunners have reportedly earmarked the Japan international as a potential reinforcement on the flank, as they look to bring in a new wide forward to complement Mikel Arteta’s attacking options this summer.
Sporting director Andrea Berta and his team of scouts are believed to be assessing various candidates at the moment, and Mitoma is reportedly one of them.
While Real Madrid star Rodrygo is considered the ‘dream’ signing, a potential deal for the Brazilian is currently stalling due to his wage demands.

Plettenberg, writing on X, has revealed that both Arsenal and Bayern Munich have registered early interest in Mitoma ahead of the summer transfer window.
Mitoma, praised as 'one of the best dribblers in the world', was the subject of interest from the Saudi Pro League in January, as Brighton rejected two bids, with the second offer reaching £61m.
Five months later, the Seagulls remain in a strong negotiating position, with Mitoma under contract until June 2027.
The 28-year-old, who joined Brighton from Union SG in 2022, has been a key player for Fabian Hurzeler’s side this season, scoring 10 goals and providing four assists in 36 league appearances.
He finished the season on a particularly strong run of form, scoring three goals and assisting once in his last five Premier League appearances.
