Tyrese Haliburton Gets Positive Personal Update Ahead of Pacers vs. Knicks Game 4

Tyrese Haliburton won’t be the only familiar face back in Gainbridge Fieldhouse for Game 4.

According to Shams Charania of ESPN, Haliburton’s father, John Haliburton, has been cleared to return to Pacers home games starting with Tuesday’s matchup against the New York Knicks.

“Pops freed: Tyrese Haliburton’s father, John, will be allowed to attend Pacers home games in a suite beginning with Tuesday’s pivotal Game 4 against the Knicks,” Shams reported. “John Haliburton missed eight games following a confrontation with Giannis Antetokounmpo on April 29.”

The return comes after a high-profile incident that took place following Indiana’s Game 5 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round. John Haliburton had rushed the court, waved a banner, and taunted Giannis, prompting a face-to-face exchange between the two before Bucks staff intervened.

The Pacers quickly barred Haliburton from attending games “for the foreseeable future,” and Tyrese addressed the matter publicly days later.

“I understand the decision that was made… My father was in the wrong. But at the end of the day, it’s my dad,” Haliburton said. “We talk every day. He’ll be at home watching the game. He’ll be just fine.”

Now, with the Pacers trailing 2–1 in the series, the timing of his father’s return could offer an emotional lift. While he’ll remain away from road games, Shams notes John Haliburton will be in a suite for all home contests moving forward.

This might be the lift Haliburton needs to take the Pacers to a 3-1 lead and win back momentum in the series.
