David Moyes could potentially convince Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap to sign for Everton in the upcoming transfer window.

The Toffees are set to commence a new era under The Friedkin Group (TFG) at the Hill Dickinson Stadium next season.

Armando Broja has returned to Chelsea after being brought in on loan last summer, with the Blues opting against triggering the buy option in his deal.

Moyes is eyeing a move for Delap to bolster his attack next summer, and the Scottish manager may be able to offer the English youngster something others can’t.

Moyes to guarantee Everton starts for Delap after transfer

Moyes can tell Delap he’ll be a starter if the centre-forward moves to the Toffees, Alan Pardew says.

The ex-Crystal Palace and Newcastle United manager feels the English striker’s agent will consider potential game time when deciding on his next move.

Delap’s Premier League record this season.

Pardew feels the 22-year-old could be a regular in the Blues’ starting lineup, something that bigger clubs like Manchester United may not be able to guarantee.

Speaking on talkSPORT (26 May), the former Toons boss said: “The one worry I’ll have for [Delap] if I were his agent is, are you going to start? That’s got to be the question. If I were Moyes, I’d say you’re starting. Are they going to say that at some of the bigger clubs? Maybe not.”

Moyes will want to beat Man United to Delap transfer

Manchester United are also interested in Delap, but the situation at Old Trafford could potentially give the Toffees an edge.

While the Red Devils undoubtedly have history behind them, they’ve fallen down a cliff this season, finishing 15th in the Premier League.

Ruben Amorim’s team also lost the Europa League final to Tottenham, and they don’t have Champions League football to convince the 22-year-old Englishman to sign for them.

Everton can offer Delap an influential place in the team, and Moyes could potentially make him a cornerstone of the new project.

The Toffees may lose Dominic Calvert-Lewin after his contract expires in the coming weeks, but even if he stays, the 28-year-old’s consistent injuries make him unreliable.

Beto has done well under the Scottish manager, but the Ipswich striker will surely start over the Guinea-Bissau ace if the Blues spend a significant sum on his transfer.

Moyes will arguably be desperate for a new number nine next summer, and TFG have an opportunity to hand him the 22-year-old’s signing.

The English youngster’s situation in the coming weeks will be one to watch closely, as there’s a lot of interest in him.
