Liam Delap set to make quick decision on future after holding talks with several clubs…

· 26 May 2025, 18:00

**Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap is being chased by several top Premier League clubs after The Tractor Boys' relegation activated a £30 million release clause.**

Delap's representatives have held talks with several Premier League sides, and a rumour on social media started by a friend of the Feed, Simon Phillips of [Si Phillips Talks Chelsea](https://siphillipstalkschelsea.substack.com/p/live-chelsea-news-blog-monday-96e), has stated that his reps are back in Newcastle today for further talks.

He also states that Delap was impressed by the pitch given to him by Everton, making it seem like Newcastle and Everton are his current frontrunners.

However, there are plenty of other rumours around that suggest that Chelsea are now the current favourites to land the former Man City academy player.

Manchester United are no longer favourites to sign Liam Delap

-------------------------------------------------------------

At one point, it seemed like Manchester United would be Delap's next destination - something we found very odd given Delap's Man City background and the fact that Man United are a steaming pile of elephant faeces (except for Sunday, when they were a lovely club with top-class players).

The thinking now, though, is that because of Man United's failure to qualify for Europe next season, Delap would prefer a move to Chelsea, who bagged a place in next season's Champions League.

It's also worth pointing out that Newcastle also qualified for the Champions League and we won a trophy this year too, so surely that should make us favourites, right?

Rumours suggest Liam Delap will make a decision this week

---------------------------------------------------------

One thing all the rumourmongers agree on is that a decision is expected to be made very swiftly, perhaps even at some point this week.

That would be ideal for Newcastle, who hope to get their business done quickly and efficiently this summer.

Even if Delap opts to go elsewhere, at least we can cross him off our list and focus on other targets.
