Surprise East Team Emerges as Potential Offseason Trade Suitor for Kings' DeMar DeRozan

The Sacramento Kings have an interesting offseason ahead of them as they try to retool their roster and become a playoff contender.

Sacramento had high expectations this season but they were unable to live up to them as they finished ninth in the Western Conference standings and were eliminated in the first round of the Play-In Tournament.

Now the Kings enter the offseason with some key decisions to make and two of their star players have been in a ton of trade rumors.

Those players are Domantas Sabonis and DeMar DeRozan, both of whom could be on the move this offseason.

If the Kings were to move on from one of their stars, it would likely be DeRozan due to his age and his hope to be on a contending team.

Because of this, the veteran forward has been in his fair share of trade rumors and ClutchPoint’s Brett Siegel recently revealed a surprise Eastern Conference team that could show interest in acquiring him.

“The Miami Heat are expected to be buyers this offseason and seek to make immediate upgrades around Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro, sources said. DeMar DeRozan is once again viewed by other teams as a potential target for Riley and the Heat,” Siegel wrote.

Miami has shown interest in DeRozan in the past and with them struggling after trading away Jimmy Butler this season, they could go after DeRozan once again this summer.

Of course, the Heat want to build a title contending roster around Herro and Adebayo and adding a star forward in DeRozan could help them accomplish that, though they would likely have to move on from Andrew Wiggins to do so.

Despite this, Miami may be unwilling to give up what Sacramento seeks in return for DeRozan or they could look to add a different star this summer as they will have several options, including both Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant.
