Liam Delap is expected to decide on his next move in the coming days after meeting interested clubs for talks over the past week.

The Ipswich Town striker can leave for £30million, owing to a relegation clause, and was given permission by his club to hold discussions with would be suitors who are willing to pay that figure.

Chelsea, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Everton have all made a pitch to the 22-year-old in recent days and Delap is weighing up which of those clubs will give him the best opportunity to further his career.

Key will be regular game time in a competitive side for the England U21 international while Chelsea and Newcastle United can also offer the added incentive of Champions League football.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca coached Delap for a season while together at Manchester City and has hailed the striker as 'fantastic'. The Stamford Bridge club are hoping their coach's influence can give them the edge in persuading Delap to join them ahead of the competition.

Delap scored 12 league goals this season and is due to be named in Lee Carsley's squad for the European U21 Championships in Slovakia next month.

Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna said: ‘It looks more likely than not that he will move on this summer, and he has interest from pretty much every club in the league, and I don't think there are many clubs in the world who wouldn't want to have him.

’Nothing is sorted, nothing is done or completed or even very, very, very close, so that process will take its course.’

Chelsea have also been discussing deals for the likes of Brighton winger Joao Pedro while United are signing Matheus Cunha from Wolves and have enquired after Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo.

United are looking to fund their rebuild by offloading Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho while Rasmus Hojlund has interest from the likes of Inter Milan, Napoli and Juventus.
