Victor Osimhen sends new double message as Chelsea£161m transfer decision imminent

Victor Osimhen has thoroughly enjoyed the last few weeks with Galatasaray, but now a huge summer transfer decision is firmly on the horizon.

The Nigeria international joined the Turkish giants on a season-long loan last September after being frozen out at Napoli by manager Antonio Conte and unable to seal a move elsewhere before any trading periods in Europe's top five leagues closed.

Despite it perhaps not being his favoured move, Osimhen has quite clearly developed a strong love for Galatasaray with that emotion likely reciprocated given his impact in the final third as he has scored 36 goals in all competitions.

Speaking in February, Osimhen said: "I don't know [about the future], to be honest. A few months ago, nobody ever thought I would come to Galatasaray, despite how big of a club they are.

"I live for the moment. [As] for what's going to happen in the summer, I don't know, but I want everyone to understand something: I really love this club so much. I love the fans, I love everyone associated with this club, from the president down to the coaching staff."

Some of those goals have come at crucial moments for Galatasaray with Osimhen on target in the game that won them the Turkish league title and in a cup final victory the previous weekend.

Following those two successes, mass celebrations have taken place with the 26-year-old recapping all the big moments in his most recent Instagram post.

A number of pictures show Osimhen and his teammates celebrating both trophies alongside photos with loved ones. Just 24 hours earlier, he shared images of himself during their open-top bus parade where he was unsurprisingly all smiles.

Osimhen is one of many strikers being linked to the Blues with Enzo Maresca in need of additions up top. Ipswich Town's Liam Delap, Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig and soon-to-be free agent Jonathan David all on their shortlist.

In terms of cost, David would be the best choice and his consistent run of scoring at Lille shows he could provide more than adequate depth.

Delap would also be a smart addition given his potential and the £30million relegation clause that can now be activated. Either Sesko or Osimhen would arguably be the marquee additions with Napoli wanting in the region of £64million for his signature.

Sesko, meanwhile, has seen the release clause in his new contract that was only signed last year increase to £67million (€80m), according to Sky Sports Germany.

Getting one of those names through the doors of Stamford Bridge before the Club World Cup kicks off in mid-June will be the priority, but it will be a challenge to complete that.
