Red fireworks were set off from the Royal Liver Building as the Liverpool FC Premier League parade made its way onto The Strand. Having lifted a record-equalling 20th English league title yesterday, the Reds' squad have made their way across the city on an open-top bus parade today.

It started at Allerton Maze at around 2.30pm today and then made its way across the city, heading northbound on Queens Drive through Mill Bank, West Derby Road, Islington and Leeds Street. It has travelled along The Strand before it ends at Blundell Street.

Hundreds of thousands of fans have lined the 15km parade route, braving the weather conditions, to get a glimpse of the Champions.

The Strand has been a sea of red throughout most of the day, with celebrating fans in club colours and smoke from flares filling the air. Many gathered hours before to soak up the atmosphere and secure a good vantage point.

Things went up a level when the parade arrived on the street. A red flare was lit from near the top of the Liver Building before red fireworks were set off from it, enveloping the whole area in Liverpool's famous colours.

Cunard's Queen Anne also made it in time to be part of the parade. The ship, which is the newest in Cunard's fleet and had her naming ceremony in the city last year, was due to arrive at Liverpool Cruise Port at around midday today.

However, weather conditions meant she has been delayed by more than five hours. Queen Anne berthed at Liverpool Cruise Port shortly after 5pm, beating the Liverpool bus to the waterfront and meaning she formed the backdrop to the celebrations, as was the plan.

Liverpool's first team have all been on the bus today, taking in the adoration from fans. Arne Slot is also on the red parade bus alongside his team.

The Dutchman took over from Jurgen Klopp last summer, and led his side to the Premier League title in his first season in charge.

‌He was spotted dancing and cheering on top of the bus as the team was covered in red smoke and immersed themselves in the incredible atmosphere. In a matter of hours, the team will be in the thick of it in the city centre.

It did not take long for supporters to start chanting 'Campione, Campione!', much to the delight of Slot. A beaming Slot then wasted no time in urging the gathered fans to increase the volume, and he was seen gesturing for them to chant even louder.

Slot took a selfie with the crowds, and the Official LFC account shared his snap with the caption: "Our gaffer."
