Ruben Amorim told Man Utd ace should be only untouchable player in transfer window, two major reasons ‘purely’ stand out

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp has dropped his two cents on the Manchester United first-team squad under manager Ruben Amorim after the Aston Villa match.

Manchester United hosted Aston Villa at Old Trafford on the final day of the 2024-25 league season and Ruben Amorim’s men came out on top on Sunday evening.

The Red Devils were dominant in the first half and were held to a 0-0 scoreline by half-time, but Villa were reduced to 10 men after Emiliano Martinez’s sending off.

United capitalised in the second half against Villa and Amorim’s side took the lead in the 76th minute at Old Trafford after Amad Diallo broke the deadlock against Villa.

Christian Eriksen came off the bench in the second half for his final appearance for the club and the midfielder put United 2-0 up against Villa from the penalty spot.

United finished the Premier League campaign in 15th place and the Red Devils have only managed 11 wins from their 38 league matches in their lacklustre season.

The Red Devils’ 15th-place finish is United’s worst finish in the Premier League era and Amorim’s men will be without European football for the 2025-26 campaign.

Jamie Redknapp argues that Leny Yoro is unsellable by Man Utd under Ruben Amorim ahead of the summer transfer window opening

Ruben Amorim is expected to begin a major overhaul of the Manchester United first-team squad that he inherited from ex-Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag last November.

Leny Yoro arrived at Old Trafford last summer after United signed the 19-year-old Frenchman, who was linked with Real Madrid, from Ligue 1 outfit Lille.

Erik ten Hag was sacked as United manager before the former Ajax boss could use Leny Yoro during the 2024-25 Premier League campaign at Old Trafford.

Yoro missed the opening of the season due to a pre-season injury last summer, but the defender returned and established himself in Amorim’s tactical system for United.

Jamie Redknapp believes that Yoro cannot be sold because of the short time that he has been at United and due to his age, but the same doesn’t apply to other players.

Speaking on Sky Sports (via the Metro), he said: “It tells you everything when you look and go through that squad and think to yourself, how many of them would you not sell this summer?

“I think apart from Leny Yoro, purely because he hasn’t been there long and he’s a young player, I think every single United player will be up for sale.”

Jamie Redknapp sends a message to Ruben Amorim about Bruno Fernandes amid transfer interest in the Man Utd captain

Bruno Fernandes has been linked with Al Hilal and the 30-year-old United captain’s future at Old Trafford remains shrouded in mystery ahead of the summer window.

Amorim has been clear that the Red Devils skipper is part of his plans and Bruno Fernandes is under contract with United until 2027 after signing a new deal in 2024.

Redknapp has suggested that he would be ready to sell Fernandes in the summer if the right offer came in for him, despite his high admiration for the United star.

“I would right now, yeah, and I’m a big fan,” he said.

“I think he’s a game-changer, but I think if the right money came about and you could then invest into the squad and I think he is a good player, I think he’s a top footballer.

“He was poor in midweek, but he has been their leading light this year, but if the right money were to come available and you can improve your squad.

“I would certainly take it.”

United will now start their post-season tour on Wednesday and the Red Devils will face ASEAN All-Stars in a friendly at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Malaysia.
