Alejandro Garnacho might have played his last game for Manchester United as they are expected to sell him this summer.
Manchester United will have to sell plenty of their squad as well as buy this summer as they aim to rebuild their squad under manager Ruben Amorim.
Garnacho negotiations set to begin
Napoli have been linked to signing Garnacho since January, after it emerged that he could be a possible sale for United this summer in order to generate more money for Amorim to spend.
The Argentine has made 36 Premier League appearances out of 38 games for United this year, scoring six goals and providing two assists for Amorim’s side this season.
However, it seems that he’s made his last appearances for the club after it was revealed last week that Amorim would be happy to sell the 20-year-old following his comments after being left out of the Europa League final starting XI for United against Spurs.
According to the i, Napoli Sporting Director Giovanni Manna is set to meet with United officials to begin the negotiation process for Garnacho. They tried and failed to sign him for £40m in January, and are expected to come back with an improved bid this summer.
The report includes that a compromise around £50m is expected to happen for the winger, with Napoli the closest to signing him. Chelsea are reportedly still keen on the Argentine too, but it has not yet been reported that they are in talks with United to sign Garnacho.
Who will United replace Garnacho with?
With the Red Devils set to sell the 20-year-old this summer, they will be looking at replacements, especially considering that Antony, Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford are due to leave too.
He could come in, with the likely addition of Matheus Cunha from Wolves, to help revitalise United’s attack, which has been their biggest weakness this season with poor form from Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.
Furthermore, they have also been linked to Lyon winger Rayan Cherki, who will be a lot cheaper at an expected cost of around £20 million. The Frenchman scored twice against United this season, and is also reportedly a target of other Premier League clubs such as Tottenham and Liverpool.
