The Miami Dolphins moving on from Tyreek Hill might not be the worst idea at this stage. The Dolphins are heading into a strange position, where they likely aren't good enough to compete in the loaded AFC, but not bad enough to tank.
Hill, who didn't have a great year last year after posting 959 yards and six touchdowns, has expressed his frustration with the organization and the direction it's heading.
Despite all the uncertainties about the Dolphins' future, Tyler Sullivan of CBS Sports believes he's next in line to get another contract. He added that an extension would be lucrative, adding that he’s signed through the 2026 season.

“Something will need to give between Hill and the Dolphins. He's been the subject of trade speculation since the minute Miami's season ended (largely thanks to his doing). However, no blockbuster that ships Hill out of South Beach has come across the wire. If Miami decides to keep its star receiver, it'll likely need to come to some sort of an extension. Hill is signed through the 2026 season, but has no guaranteed money after this coming year. Even as he enters his age-31 season, Hill is still among the very best in the league at his position, so any sort of extension will be lucrative,” he wrote.
It wouldn't make much sense for the Dolphins to give him money right now.
If he has a season they're looking to him to have, perhaps giving him another contract next offseason would be the better plan.
However, this could be the final season with Hill in Miami. The Dolphins don't want to hurt their cap situation by giving him more, something the front office has to consider.
