Car collides with crowd at Liverpool FC trophy parade

A car has ploughed into fans celebrating Liverpool's trophy parade in the city.

Eyewitnesses said the driver of the vehicle "deliberately" struck the crowd of Liverpool FC fans as they watched their team parade the English Premier League trophy through the city centre.

There are unconfirmed reports a number of people have been injured. A man has been detained by police at the scene.

Video published to social media shows the chaotic scenes as ambulances line the street, with fans visibly confused about what had just happened.

One user posted to X/Twitter: "Very distressing to witness a car ramming the crowd on Walton Street after the Liverpool Parade. Really hope the people that were hit are ok. Very close call for us"
