Barcelona can pocket almost €50 million from transfers of loanees and former players

Barcelona’s transfer policy with young talents and team outcasts has seldom ever looked appealing, for it always appears that the club let go of talents for a fee that is blatantly low.

What Joan Laporta and Co. have done, however, is cleverly insert clauses to retain a percentage of any future sale of the player once they come good.

Now, SPORT relays that the club could well reap the rewards of that very decision this summer with a sum as high as €50 million likely to enter their coffers through that route.

The players involved

As brought to light by the outlet, the likes of Alex Valle, Jean-Claire Todibo, Oscar Mingueza, Fransisco Trincao, Mika Marmol, and Ilaix Moriba may all leave their current clubs for greener pastures in the summer.

In the case of Valle, Barcelona are set to pocket €6 million after he has impressed at Como under Cesc Fabregas. The Serie A side are seriously considering triggering the purchase option which comes as great news for the club.

Todibo, meanwhile, has impressed at West Ham and the Premier League club will trigger his €40 million clause in the coming months. Given that the clause is mandatory, they will enter at least €8 million from it as they own 20% of his rights.

Mingueza is the third former Barcelona player who may be on the move next month. As one of Celta Vigo’s best players and a regular Spanish international, Barcelona will hope to recover 50% of Mingueza’s €20 million clause.

The biggest fish of them all is Trincao, the Portuguese winger whose exit clause stands at a hefty €80 million and of which Barcelona own 50%.

With Manchester United interested in his signing, Barcelona will hope the Red Devils pull the trigger.

From Marmol and Moriba, Barcelona hope to recover €5 million and €2.25 million respectively with both players currently being linked with departures.

Beyond the aforementioned set, there could even be a surprise financial boost from Ez Abde, Ferran Jutgla, Sergino Dest, Alex Collado, and Riqui Puig on whom the club retains small percentages.
