Newcastle United look set for a big summer.
After sealing qualification for the Champions League, Newcastle United fans may finally get to see the club sign players ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Indeed, Eddie Howe did not see his squad strengthened last summer. Club owners PIF were unable to spend much money due to the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
However, that could change this summer. Newcastle are confident they are in a strong PSR position, with the Newcastle United owners seemingly ready to back Howe.
Having money to spend, however, isn’t the only issue. It still needs to be spent correctly, something Newcastle have managed during the PIF era given all the success they’ve had in the transfer market.
The likes of Alexander Isak, Anthony Gordon, Bruno Guimaraes, Lewis Hall, Sandro Tonali and Tino Livramento have surely all seen their market values soar since joining Newcastle.
Hopefully, the club can get back to signing that level player again. With that in mind, claims from iNews are interesting.

Newcastle United could have £250million to spend this summer
They claim Newcastle could feasibly have £250million to spend this summer, although that doesn’t absolutely guarantee they will splash such a large sum.
Still, it seems clear that funds are indeed there for Howe. They claim both Liam Delap and Joao Pedro are seen as striker targets, with the club keen to bring in cover and competition for Isak.

The Newcastle United manager is also said to be keen on Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo and Bournemouth duo Illia Zabarnyi and Antoine Semenyo.
The report adds that PIF have always stressed they will back Howe to the extent that the PSR regulations allow.
Bruno Guimaraes makes transfer demand at Newcastle United
Signing players will help Howe manage across the Premier League, domestic cups and the Champions League next season.
Having seen his squad stretched even this season without the burden of European football, that is hugely important.
Bringing in top players provides another bonus, too. It would help convince Newcastle’s leading stars that the club is moving in the right direction off the field again, following a turbulent summer in 2024.
In fact, Bruno Guimaraes has urged Newcastle to make signings this summer, with the captain saying the squad “is a little bit short”.
Thankfully, it looks as if the club are in a position to do exactly that.
