Buccaneers Praised as ‘First Class’ by Injured Star

Chase Edmonds was considered a quality running back for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when he signed with the team at the start of the 2023 season.

Much like many of the team's stars last season, though, Edmonds suffered an injury that altered the course of his career. In the case of the former Arizona Cardinal, a knee injury cost him the 2024 season, and he was later released by the team.

While teams are not obligated to re-sign injured players, or make sure that those players get the right medical attention, the Buccaneers have taken good care of the running back.

So much so that the veteran free agent joined JC Allen of BucsGameday on the Pirate Parlay Podcast to talk about how fair the Buccaneers were to him.

"The Bucs... First-class organization. They could've cut me and threw me to the curb and they put me on season-ending I.R., right? [The Bucs] took care of me financially, and I am forever grateful for that, so I have no negative things and no animosity for the Bucs," Edmonds said. "They are a first-class organization every step of the way."

It is unclear whether or not Edmonds will be able to make a comeback in his career after his training camp injury last season.

The fact that the Buccaneers treated him well during his recovery, though, will be a sign to other free agents who are looking for teams that treat their players right.

Few do it better than Tampa Bay, though.
