Sasa Kalajdzic reveals he's just taken another big step in his recovery in incredibly humble…

Sasa Kalajdzic has endured a torrid time at Wolves, but is looking ahead to hopefully brighter times.

The Austrian international striker has spent the whole of the 2024/25 season on the sidelines, after sustaining an ACL injury while on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt last season.

That was the second ACL injury he’s had while at Wolves, and the third in his professional career.

Kalajdzic’s future this summer will be interesting.

Vitor Pereira will be looking at Kalajdzic in training to see whether he can be an option for Wolves next season.

But previously Kalajdzic has opened the door to leaving Wolves on loan.

It remains to be seen what will happen. But for now, Kalajdzic is very grateful to be back out there.

Kalajdzic has not played a game for the Wolves first-team since December 9 against Nottingham Forest.

It remains to be seen whether that will be his final appearance for the club.

But many Wolves fans would love Kalajdzic to be an option next season, as he’s a very likeable person who has not deserved such horrendous injury luck.

Earlier today, Kalajdzic took to Instagram to post about the fact he’s now back in training and looking forward to the future.

And not only that, Kalajdzic has confirmed he’s actually played some games with the Wolves seconds.

He said: “Smiles are back! 😃

“I can’t describe how happy and thankful I am to be back in training, on the pitch and with the team after such a long time! As it’s (unfortunately) not the first major injury in my career, I’m also proud of facing this challenge, working my way back onto the pitch and also having played my first games last week with the 2nd team. 🙏🏼

“None of this would’ve been possible without the unconditional support of my family, my wife and my son, who put a smile on my face every day, even on the most difficult ones! ❤️

“Also not without every single member of the medical & fitness department @wolves: I have no words for the time, work and patience each of them have invested in me – especially Ollie, Kai & Kieron, who worked with me most of the time. A big thank you also to @alinus and @healthlab for playing a big part during my rehab as well as Dr. Andy Williams!

“Now I’m looking forward to recharging, refocusing and getting fully fit and ready for next season! Have a great summer, wolves! 🐺🙏”

Kalajdzic loan likely

It has been suggested by journalist Liam Keen that Kalajdzic could head out on loan this summer.

With the player himself hinting that will be an option, it would be no surprise if we saw Kalajdzic at least start next season in the colours of another team.

It would be brilliant if Kalajdzic could still make a success of his move to Wolves, given how much of a nightmare it has been so far.

Sasa Kalajdzic for Wolves (2022-present)

Appearances – 14

Minutes played – 327

Goals – 3

Assists – 1

He’s a player everyone speaks highly of and someone who conducts himself extremely well, and the way he’s been robbed of game time by injury is very cruel.

But we’ll see what happens, and if Pereira does feel he can push Jorgen Strand Larsen in the first team next term.
