Manchester United star labelled‘world-class’ by Bryan Mbeumo could help lure him to Old Trafford

Bryan Mbeumo of Brentford is the latest name to be linked to Manchester United – and this would be an extremely exciting acquisition for Red Devils supporters.

After United have seemingly secured Matheus Cunha’s signature, the Red Devils are wasting no time in looking to raid another Premier League side of a top talent in Bryan Mbeumo.

United-linked Mbeumo has had a ridiculous season for Brentford, scoring 20 goals for the Bees and more than stepping up in Ivan Toney’s absence.

This is why the Red Devils now want Mbeumo, but a deal will be tricky to navigate. That being said, someone still around the club could lend a helping hand.

Christian Eriksen could be key for Manchester United to sign Bryan Mbeumo

Christian Eriksen is set to leave United in a couple of days as a free agent, but the midfielder could still be instrumental in luring the Cameroonian to Old Trafford.

Eriksen played with Mbeumo at the Amex Stadium before joining United – and it’s safe to say the Dane had a definite impact on Mbeumo during his time there.

Mbeumo lauded Eriksen as ‘world-class’ and said he gave him ‘confidence’ when the legendary midfielder arrived at the Gtech Community Stadium in the January transfer window of 2022.

Mbeumo said: “He [Eriksen] just explained to us when he came now I’m fully recovered, I’m ready to play and if anybody’s got a question you can ask me about it and I will reply [about his heart attack].

Sergio Reguilon would also give Mbeumo approval

Mbeumo shared a message with Brentford fans as the season wrapped up – just a small gesture, but one that caught the eye of Eriksen, who liked the post.

Interestingly, another former Red Devil, Sergio Reguilon, who played alongside Mbeumo at Brentford, has previously shown his admiration for the forward.

After Brentford’s win over Newcastle in December 2024 – where Mbeumo scored – Reguilon commented on his Instagram post with lovestruck emojis.

While any potential deal is still in its infancy and far from guaranteed, what a coup it would be for Manchester United if Ineos could make a move for Mbeumo a reality.
