Man United have been linked to the striker alongside Premier League rivals Chelsea and Arsenal.
Manchester United are likely to sign a number nine this summer alongside their addition of Wolves attacker Matheus Cunha, who they are due to sign for £62.5m in instalments this summer.
The Red Devils need to add more firepower up top under Ruben Amorim as they finished the season as the fifth-fewest-scoring side in the league this season. Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund struggles up front for United, leaving Amorim likely to replace the pair.
Kazim-Richards tips Osimhen for United move
The Nigerian has a £63m release clause heading into the summer, and has also been linked with Premier League rivals Chelsea and Arsenal. It is not yet clear as to where the 26-year-old will go this summer.
Former Premier League striker Colin Kazim-Richards has tipped United to sign the Nigerian attacker. He told ManchesterWorld alongside betideas.com: “He assumes responsibility. He’s a win-at-all-costs player, doesn’t need to be the man putting it away if his club wins. I love that type of striker. That's my type of striker because that's kind of the way that I used to play. I was never a top goal scorer. I was never going to get you 20 goals in the season. But I'll make a team, score more goals and the guy that's playing next to me will score more goals, which always happened wherever I played.
“He’s got such an aura about him, like Ibrahimović had, that when he’s on the pitch, the opponent are already running scared. He gives his team so much confidence, it’s like starting with a goal up. Osimhen would be a major star in the Premier League, there is no doubt about it. Whoever gets him will be very lucky to have him.”
Kazim-Richards was asked which Premier League he could see Osimhen playing for next season, and he tipped the striker for a move to Old Trafford, but said that it would be hard for him next season.
He added: “Manchester United have been linked, but they’re a club in turmoil and have been for a long time. If he went there, there would be so many challenges and so many things for him to acclimatise to. There are doubts about the manager’s future, will they cut the food from the canteen again! They’re a very unstable club at the moment and players like stability.”
United suffer blow in pursuit of striker
Osimhen and Delap have both been linked to United, however, both are likely keen to play Champions League football next season.
The Red Devils won’t be playing in Europe, and rivals Chelsea managed to secure Champions League football next season, meaning that their pulling power for the likes of Delap and Osimhen would be much better.
It could cause an issue for United, leaving them to become second-choice for both strikers this summer, meaning that Amorim may not get the choice of which one he could sign over the likes of Chelsea.
