With the intense weight of the financial pressures bearing down on Manchester United, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is looking at any way the club can cut costs or generate income.
Over the last 12 months, the INEOS owner has been making some extremely controversial decisions in a bid to save the club from going bust.
These measures have seen as mass wave of 450 redundancies, cuts to funding of associated groups and scrutinising supplies to an incredible degree, not to mention ticket price hikes.
Whilst those exercises have been done to cut costs, Ratcliffe has also looked at ways to generate revenue, with Ruben Amorim and his squad currently in Asia as part of a pot-season tour.
A 32-man squad has travelled to take part in a two-match tour of Asia, with a fixture against the ASEAN All Stars in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday 28th May, and the Hong Kong national side on Friday 30th May.
However, the BBC has also reported that meet and greet is set to take place in Mumbai on Thursday 29th May, between the two games.
The report explains that United’s sponsor Apollo Tyres has confirmed that Andre Onana, Harry Maguire and Diogo Dalot will be taking part in the meet and greet as part of the Asia Tour.
It’s understood that the tour comprising of the two fixtures and the meet and greet is set to generate around £7.8 million ($10 million) for The Red Devils.
Once the squad return, they’ll have limited down time, with a pre-season fixture against Leeds United to take place in Sweden on 19th July before traveling to the States a week later.
