Yamal reaches total agreement on new Barca contract until 2031

Lamine Yamal has reportedly agreed his new long-term contract with Barcelona and will sign a deal with the club that runs until 2031.

The Catalans have been in talks with his agent Jorge Mendes for a little while and have now reached a total agreement on the youngster’s contract.

According to Fabrizio Romano, a six-year contract has been agreed and will be signed imminently.

Barcelona have made contract renewals for their biggest stars a top priority, and securing Yamal’s future is of prime importance given his sensational rise.

According to Diario Sport, the new deal means that Yamal “could become the highest paid in the squad” if he hits some performance-based variables.

The report adds that negotiations haven’t always been easy but Barca wanted to offer a suitable contract and Yamal has “understood the economic reality of the club” and made an effort.

Yamal now joins fellow key stars such as Pedri, Pau Cubarsi, Gavi, Alejandro Balde, Ronald Araujo and Raphinha in committing his future to the Catalan giants.
