Liverpool make E100m bid to sign 22yo playmaker

Liverpool have made an opening €100 million bid to sign Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Florian Wirtz this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Merseyside giants have already secured a deal with Leverkusen for right-back Jeremie Frimpong. He is expected to join in the near future.

The Reds are now locked in negotiations with Leverkusen for Wirtz. They have tabled an opening bid worth €100 million including add-ons.

Leverkusen have not accepted the proposal and talks are expected to continue between the clubs to find an agreement over a suitable package.

Manchester City and Bayern Munich have also expressed an interest in the 22-year-old, but he has made the decision to join Arne Slot's side.

It appears only a matter of time before a suitable solution is found. After Wirtz, the Reds could speed up their pursuit of a marquee striker.

RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko is reportedly one of the top names on their radar. The Slovenian is open to moving to the Premier League.
