Terry Bradshaw is one of the best players in the history of the Pittsburgh Steelers. And what a rich history it is.
The legendary quarterback led the team to four Super Bowl wins in just six seasons. In his 14 seasons at the helm for the Steelers, the team only missed the playoffs four times, and two of those times were his first two seasons in the league.
But now, there may be a bit of a threat to his legacy.
The Steelers have been the main team associated with signing Aaron Rodgers this offseason. While it hasn't happened yet, there is a decent chance it might. And it just so happens that Bradshaw and Rodgers have something in common.
They both like to wear the No. 12.
Bradshaw wore it all 14 seasons in the league, and Rodgers wore it until he went to the New York Jets, where the number was retired for legendary quarterback Joe Namath. But the thing is, the Steelers have not retired the number for Terry.
Steelers insider Gerry Dulac said during a recent Q&A with his followers that the team does not plan on retiring any players' jerseys any time in the near future.
"I don't think it's happening anytime soon,'' he said.
The Steelers have only retired three numbers in franchise history - Ernie Stautner, 'Mean' Joe Greene and Franco Harris.
Which means, if Rodgers decides he wants to play in Pittsburgh, he might have free rein over the jersey number choice, and ... who knows?
Fans are surely left wondering ... would it be a continuation of a legacy? Would Rodgers ask Bradshaw's permission? Would Terry be honored?

Maybe Aaron (who wore No. 8 with the New York Jets) will select No. 12. While this wouldn't change how much Bradshaw did for the franchise, it would mean that he was not the last player to wear the No. 12 for the black and gold. ... and it would mean another layer of controversy in Pittsburgh for Rodgers before he ever even tried on the uniform.
