Richard Keys has hailed David Moyes as Everton ended the season with a 1-0 win over Newcastle United in the Premier League.

David Moyes’ team travelled to St James’ Park on Sunday (25 May), with Carlos Alcaraz scoring the only goal of the fixture.

The Toffees have finished 13th in the league table after fears of relegation during Sean Dyche’s spell a few months ago.

Moyes’ record since returning to Goodison Park has been impressive, and he’s ensured the Grand Old Lady got the farewell it deserved.

Keys has praised the 62-year-old head coach for the impact he’s had at the Merseyside outfit since returning to Goodison Park and termed him “brilliant”.

The veteran broadcaster wrote in his blog (26 May): “What an impact Moyes had at Goodison (I wanted to say that one last time). Everton had 17 points when he took over. They finished with 48. Brilliant, David.”

Dan Friedkin must back Moyes at Hill Dickinson Stadium

Moyes can build something special at the Hill Dickinson Stadium if The Friedkin Group (TFG) back him in the upcoming transfer window.

Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap is being linked with a move to the Toffees next summer, and his addition could be a statement signing for the American owners.

Dan Friedkin’s initial months in charge of the Blues have been encouraging for the fans, and expectations will undoubtedly be high going into next season.

Everton have been involved in relegation battles over the years, and that’s something supporters will want to see change soon.

With Moyes in charge, there’s a feeling that the Merseyside outfit should be able to climb further up the table in the upcoming campaign, and potentially challenge for a European spot.

The Scottish manager showed his successful credentials at West Ham United by winning the UEFA Conference League title, and with the right tools, he may be able to achieve something similar at the Toffees.

Moyes has made the Blues’ fans believe again, and it would make sense for TFG to show some ambition next summer.
