Manchester United and Arsenal will be waiting with bated breath over their potential search for a striker in the coming weeks, with Fabrizio Romano revealing in his GIVEMESPORT transfer newsletter that the Sporting star will 'assess his options' in the coming days over his next club.
The Swedish striker has been in fine form for the Portuguese double-winners throughout the season, with his late penalty against Lisbon rivals Benfica forcing extra time, eventually seeing them win the cup as well as the league, which they claimed last week on goal difference. 54 goals in 52 outings for the club is an outstanding tally, and that has seen United and Arsenal enter the search for his signature.
Romano: Gyokeres' Will Decide over Man Utd Arsenal 'Soon'
The Sporting star is expected to move in the summer window
Viktor Gyokeres
It's no surprise that the striker will leave this summer, with heavy interest from Europe and especially England, but United and Arsenal both need him for similar reasons.
United have struggled with goals this season, with Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee only notching a combined seven goals in the Premier League, a shambolic tally for a club of their stature, and Ruben Amorim will look to fix that immediately heading into the summer.

The Gunners, by contrast, have struggled without Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus in the second half of the campaign, utilising Mikel Merino as an auxiliary forward - though second place wasn't mathematically confirmed until the last day due to their lack of goals.
And Romano has issued an update to reveal that Gyokeres will speak to his representatives over the next few days, and that it 'will be time' to decide over the coming week or two before he plunges for his next move. He wrote:
"In the next days he will speak with his agents and assess all options. It's going to be time to decide soon."
A striker scoring 39 goals in 33 games in any league is admirable, but a strong league such as the Primeira Liga holds especially high standing at the age of 26.
He could transform himself in England, and although United's failure to qualify for European football will have some bearing, the Premier League rivals will wait it out to see where Gyokeres goes next.
