When Gordon arrived at St James' Park, it took him a little while to get going after his move from Everton. Last season, the English winger really turned it on, enjoying a sensational campaign for the Magpies and was arguably one of the best left-sided attackers in the Premier League.
Gordon hasn't been the same this turn, with journalists and fans calling out the Newcastle forward for his lacklustre performances. With Newcastle potentially needing to raise funds to help with profit and sustainability regulations, the Magpies could look to cash in on Gordon this summer.

Offloading Gordon in the summer could drastically help their PSR situation, even if it has improved in recent months. Qualifying for the Champions League will certainly benefit the Magpies financially, but they could make a profit on the £40m they spent to bring him to Newcastle.

Reports have recently suggested that Liverpool could now reignite their interest in Gordon, and he would welcome a move to the Merseyside club. Reliable reporter Fabrizio Romano even confirmed that the English international wanted to join Liverpool last summer, so it's clear to see that it's something he's considering at some point in his career.
Against Everton on Sunday, with Newcastle pushing to qualify for the Champions League, Gordon, who earns a whopping £170,000-a-week, produced another disappointing performance and was substituted by Eddie Howe at half-time. Considering his reported eagerness to head through the exit door, Newcastle should consider looking to cash in if a big offer arrives in the summer transfer window.

Earlier in the season, when Gordon was sent off for a silly altercation with Brighton defender Jan Paul van Hecke, journalist Luke Edwards slammed the Newcastle winger, suggesting that he needs to 'grow up'. Later in the campaign, Edwards was at it again, claiming that Gordon owed Newcastle a good performance after an 'average season'.
Newcastle supporters understandably want to see more from an expensive signing, and if he's already got one eye on another move despite only being at the club for a few years, it's a bit of a concern. It's unclear whether any club would be willing to meet the asking price of Gordon, but it wouldn't be a surprise if a sale was considered.
