Liverpool keeping tabs on La Liga full-back

With the Premier League season having come to an end on Sunday, those in charge of champions Liverpool will already have turned their attention to the transfer window.

The Reds were held to a 1-1 draw by FA Cup winners Crystal Palace in their final match of the campaign, with Mohamed Salah netting his 34th goal of the campaign.

Trent Alexander-Arnold also made his final appearance for the Reds, before he departs when his contract expires later this summer.

Now, it has emerged that Liverpool are interested in a La Liga defender.

As per CaughtOffside, Liverpool are monitoring Atletico Madrid full-back Nahuel Molina.

It is claimed that Newcastle United are also interested in the Argentina international, who was part of the squad that won the World Cup in 2022.

Molina joined Atletico from Italian side Udinese in 2022 and has since played more than 130 times for the Madrid outfit across all competitions.

The report claims that Italian sides Juventus, Roma and Inter Milan are all also interested in the right-back, who can also play as a central defender.

Liverpool are on the hunt for a new right-back with Alexander-Arnold departing Anfield this summer, and youngster Conor Bradley having struggled with injuries this season.

Molina himself is said to be keen on the idea of joining a new club for a fresh challenge, and the report suggests that he is likely to command offers in the region of £25-30 million if Atletico do decide to sell him this summer.

The defender’s current contract is set to tun until the end of the 2026/27 campaign.
