Liverpool set price for 22-year-old amid extensive links as Everton, Newcastle show interest

Liverpool want €30-35 million for their defensive sensation Jarell Quansah amidst interest from Everton and Newcastle.

According to a report from CaughtOffside, Liverpool are ready to sanction the departure of Jarell Quansah for around €30-35 million. The young English centre-back hasn’t had enough game time at Anfield and he seems ready to make a move away from the club this summer amidst interest from Everton and Newcastle.

Quansah has come up the ranks at Liverpool and has been a part of their first team setup since the summer of 2023. Over the last two seasons, he has been involved in a total of 58 matches but has been on the pitch for a limited amount of time.

In the 2024/25 campaign, he has only racked up 1,290 minutes. The 22-year-old is not happy with the limited game time as it is hampering his development as a player. Arne Slot already has a power-packed defensive lineup with Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konaté, and Joe Gomez. Moreover, he is looking to add another centre-back this summer.

As a result, Quansah is unlikely to get much game time next season either. While the club recognises his potential and have him tied down to a contract until the summer of 2029, the Reds could consider cashing in on him if a decent offer arrives, as he is not a key part of Slot’s plans for now.

The Merseyside club do need significant funds to reinforce their squad in the summer and the youngster’s departure could give them a decent financial boost. With the player keen on a move away from the club, Liverpool seem to be willing to sanction his departure for a fee of around €30-35 million.

Premier League rivals keen on signing Quansah

Everton and Newcastle United have emerged as a potential destination for the young centre-back, who can even feature as a right-sided full-back when needed. The Toffees have been extensively linked with him in recent months.

They want to bolster their backline on a priority basis and Quansah is quite high on their wishlist. They feel he has all the qualities needed to become one of their mainstays and are willing to offer him a key role.

Meanwhile, Newcastle are also interested in his signature. The Tyneside club want to add a new young centre-back to the mix as Dan Burn and Fabian Schar are both on the wrong side of 30 and in the final phase of their career.

Quansah may have had limited game time so far, but he has shown clear signs that he’s capable of playing at the highest level. Both clubs are considering a move for the 22-year-old, and the potential fee appears to be reasonable given his talent. A move away from Anfield could work in his favour, as regular first-team football would be key to unlocking his full potential.
