Merseyside Police will tonight hold a press conference following the harrowing vehicle incident during Liverpool's Premier League trophy parade. A day of celebration in the city was ruined when, at around 6pm, a car careered into fans, leaving many needing hospital treatment.
Police have since confirmed a 53-year-old white British man has been detained. The authority will now hold a media briefing to update people on the situation. They've already urged people not to share footage of the incident online and have instead asked supporters to send videos directly to them to help their investigation.

The press conference can be watched live on the @merseysidepolice YouTube channel. It is not set to be broadcast on any domestic television channels.

The press conference will get underway at 10.30pm. It is not clear how long it will last.
