Leeds United now know the future of one of their players after today’s news. Everton officially announced the departure of their four loanees: Orel Mangala, Jack Harrison, Carlos Alcaraz and Armando Broja. This means Harrison will return to Elland Road this summer.
It comes as sort of a surprise after the toffees were reportedly keen on signing the winger on a permanent deal. The 28-year old was a regular under David Moyes, and had high hopes for his career at Goodison Park:
”…I have a lot of ambitions, even now. Some people might say, you’re maybe getting on a bit in your career, or something, but I still have a goal, I’ve always had, that is to get into the England squad and be part of a top team in the Premier League, and hopefully I can do that with Everton.”
It is yet to be known if Leeds do decide on his future soon.
Jack Harrison will not be at Elland Road next season
One thing that will happen this summer is that Harrison will leave the club. He himself has made it known over the past two years that he was keen on a move to Everton. Now that it looks like that move is dead, he will try to find another club. Harrison’s relationship with Leeds United fans has not been great, and it looks like it is beyond repair.
Keeping him around next season benefits no one. Even if he is a decent player, the damage has been done already.
