Travis Hunter is gearing up for his rookie season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and it has already been a whirlwind of a year. From being selected second overall in the 2025 NFL draft, to rookie minicamp in May and even getting married to his longtime sweetheart, Hunter has had a busy spring.
Despite the packed schedule and the excitement of starting a new chapter in the NFL, Hunter finds time to make a meaningful impact — especially on young athletes looking up to him.
In a recent social media video, Hunter is seen walking up to a young athlete who is working out. The moment was originally shared by the Colorado Buffaloes fan page @SkoBuffsGoBuffs with the caption:
"Travis Hunter randomly surprised a young fan that he saw working out."
The reaction was priceless. The young athlete, clearly stunned and excited, ran into the house to grab his phone and politely asked for a photo with the NFL star.
Hunter, now 22, earned multiple accolades last season with the Colorado Buffaloes. He made history by becoming the first college football player ever to win both the Chuck Bednarik Award, given to the nation’s top defensive player, and the Fred Biletnikoff Award, awarded to the nation’s top wide receiver.
Originally recruited to Jackson State, Hunter made the move to Colorado along with quarterback Shedeur Sanders and head coach Deion Sanders. In his lone season with the Tigers, Hunter logged 18 receptions and four touchdowns. Over two seasons in Boulder, he racked up 20 receiving touchdowns and added one rushing score. He finished the 2024 campaign with 1,258 receiving yards.

The Jaguars will open their preseason schedule on Saturday, Aug. 9, with a home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Their regular season kicks off Sunday, Sept. 7, at home against the Carolina Panthers.
Hunter’s arrival in the NFL brings sky-high expectations, but if this recent gesture is any indication, he’s already winning over fans on and off the field.
