Liverpool and Newcastle United learn price to sign World Cup winner from La Liga giants

Liverpool and Newcastle United must pay around €30-35 million for Argentina’s World Cup-winning right back Nahuel Molina in the summer.

According to Caught Offside, Nahuel Molina will cost around €30-35 million in the summer as teams like Liverpool and Newcastle United remain interested. Atletico Madrid are not clear about their objective with the World Cup winner, as a sale might become an option for them to consider.

Nahuel Molina might look for a new challenge in the summer despite still having slightly more than two years on his deal at Atletico Madrid. He has been a key star under Diego Simeone’s management, playing 44 times during the season across all competitions.

Should Atletico Madrid choose to sell, Molina will cost rivals around €30-35 million in the summer, as Newcastle United and Liverpool are among those interested. The two clubs could be in the market for a new right-back, especially the former, who are eager to bring a competitor into the position.

Newcastle United are not interested in selling Tino Livramento despite a host of clubs, like Manchester City showing an interest. Incidentally, the Magpies are potentially interested in Molina as a replacement for Kieran Trippier, who could finally leave the club in the summer.

The Magpies have also qualified for the Champions League next season, which gives them additional firepower in attracting top players. Molina will be a solid acquisition for the team to improve their depth in defensive areas, as the World Cup winner is well-versed in playing as a right-back or as a wing-back.

Liverpool unlikely to sign Nahuel Molina

Liverpool might be still thinking about shoring up the right-back slot in light of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s departure. They are set to sign Jeremie Frimpong, but the interest in Molina might be with the thinking of securing someone defensively solid in the role.

However, with Frimpong they have a solid enough right-back with an attacking attitude, although to balance other things, they also have Conor Bradley in their ranks. While the idea of securing someone like the World Cup winner might eventually suit them, Arne Slot is unlikely to focus too much on another right-back as he will feel the position is well covered at this moment.
