76ers’ Paul George Reveals Massive Shade He Received After Eagles’ Super Bowl Win

The Philadelphia 76ers are coming off a season that they wish to forget. It was a nightmare season from the start, and it ended as such.

The 76ers finished the season with a 24-58 record, good for the 13th seed in the lowly Eastern Conference. It was a season to forget, but the same cannot be said for their city counterpart, the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles finished the season at the top of the football world, as Super 59 champions. They dominated all season long, including in their playoff run, as they won three of the four games by double digits.

The Eagles' season ended in the best way possible, quite the opposite of the 76ers. Months later, 76ers star forward Paul George admitted to being roasted by Eagles fans after the Super Bowl win.

On the latest episode of his Podcast P show, George recounted a story about an incident he was involved in following the Eagles' Super Bowl victory.

"He said, 'Yo, we could've kept Tobias. We could've kept Tobias if you gonna do this s--t,'" George said. "Shoutout TB, man. It ain't no joke at TB. It was funny, but it was like some s--t you take to the heart. Like, you right. Facts. I got you."

George also went on to admit that the comment inspired him to get to work and help the 76ers at the time.

"I got to the crib, found the closest basketball, like 'Yo, let me get right,'" he said.

However, that did not end up being the case.

The season for the 76ers and George was a nightmare. George only played half the season (41 games), and averaged 16.2 points per game, 5.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.8 steals while shooting 43 percent from the field and 35.8 percent from three in 32.5 minutes of action.

Last summer, George inked a lucrative four-year, $212 million deal with Philadelphia-a move that was expected to push the 76ers into title contention. However, the results fell short of expectations, and now there's growing speculation about whether George will still be with the team when the 2025-26 season tips off.

George is set to enter his 16th season in the league.
