It has been confirmed that the incident that took place at the Liverpool open-top bus parade is being treated as an isolated incident and that no one else aside from the 53-year-old man already under arrest is being investigated in relation to the incident.
At 6pm this evening, reports were made that a vehicle had collided with several of the thousands of pedestrians that had crowded the streets to celebrate Liverpool's Premier League title victory, with footage emerging shortly after. Now, in a press conference, it has been confirmed that the incident is not being treated as a terrorist incident.

Assistant Chief Constable of Merseyside Police, Jenny Sims, spoke at a press conference and gave an update on the incident, confirming that it was not being treated as a terror-related incident:
"The car stopped at the scene, and a 53-year-old white British man was arrested," Sims confirmed. "We believe him to be the driver of the vehicle.
"Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances leading up to the collision, and it is vital that people do not speculate or spread misinformation on social media.
"What I can tell you is that we believe this to be an isolated incident, and we are not currently looking for anyone else in relation to it. The incident is not being treated as terrorism."
It was also revealed in the press conference that "27 patients were taken to hospital," with two of those being treated for serious injuries. It was also confirmed that four of the 27 were children, while 20 people were treated for minor injuries at the scene. As of yet, there has not been any news on any casualties.

It was also confirmed by Chief Fire Officer of Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service Nick Searle that three adults and one child were trapped under the vehicle at the time the 53-year-old man was apprehended.
