Former West Virginia star Miles "Deuce" McBride has played a considerable role this season in helping the New York Knicks reach the precipice of the NBA Finals, but that work seemed in danger entering Sunday's Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals, with the Knicks down 2-0 in their series with the Indiana Pacers.
McBride certainly didn't get off to a great start in game 3, getting into foul trouble very early -- the Knicks also didn't start too strongly, and trailed by 13 points at the halftime break. But the Knicks would end up storming back and leaving the court victorious on Sunday, [nabbing a 106-100 win](https://www.espn.com/nba/playbyplay/_/gameId/401772991) over the Pacers -- and that likely wouldn't have been possible without McBride.
Granted, McBride didn't end up the leading scorer nor a standout star in Game 3 -- he registered a modest 9-point performance in the win, playing just 15 minutes due to his foul trouble. But he was able to log most of his minutes when it mattered most, and helped spark a fire under a Knicks team in real danger of going down 3-0 in the series.
McBride re-entered the contest late in the third quarter after missing much of the game, and with his team trailing by 15 points with just 14 minutes of action left to play, he exploded on a solo 7-0 run that saw him drain a pair of jump shots -- including one 28-foot three-pointer -- and sink a pair of foul shots to cut the Pacers' lead to eight points. He would continue to see the floor throughout the fourth quarter, sinking a pair of free throws as the Knicks outscored the Pacers 36-20 in the fourth quarter to run away with a victory.
