Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has commented on the incident that took place during the Liverpool open-top bus parade on Monday evening. Merseyside Police have confirmed that a 53-year-old white British man has been arrested after a vehicle was seen colliding with pedestrians on Water Street shortly after 6pm.
Twenty-seven people have been treated in hospital, with two — including one child — described as suffering “serious injuries.” A further 20 were treated at the scene, with four people said to have been trapped underneath the car. As of yet, there have been no reports of any fatalities.
Reaction from across the football world has been widespread, and James, who owns a 2% share in the Anfield outfit, has expressed his concern on social media.
