National team bosses Luis de la Fuente and Santi Denia have both been full of praise for the youngster who has enjoyed a good season with Barcelona.
Under-21 boss Santi Denia says there have been plenty of talks with Fermin and Barcelona to ensure all are happy with the arrangement.
> “The most important thing is that the players, as we saw at the Games, had to be available and committed,” he told a press conference.
>
> “We’ve spoken with him and his club, we’ve had meetings with Deco about different players, and Fermín is committed. For us, he’s an example of commitment and generosity, and he wanted to do it, which is the most important thing.”
Fermin will be joined by Barca team-mates Gerard Martin and Pablo Torre in the U21 squad for the tournament in Slovakia
Before then, he’ll meet up with the senior squad for a Nations League semi-final against France. De la Fuente described the Barca star as an “extraordinary kid with exceptional energy” when discussing his roster earlier today.
