Spain boss Luis de la Fuente has named six Barcelona stars in his latest squad for a [Nations League semi-final tie with France](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2025/5/26/24437279/gavi-and-fermin-lopez-named-in-spain-squad-as-six-barcelona-players-called-up).
Gavi and Fermin Lopez are back with the national team alongside Dani Olmo, Pedri, Pau Cubarsi and Lamine Yamal.
De la Fuente shared his thoughts on some of the Barca stars after announcing his squad and did not hold back in his praise for Yamal.
> “He’s touched by God’s magic, he’s special. You have to know how to manage him. He and his club are doing very well. He’s very mature for his age; he handles situations naturally. Let’s be aware that he’s 17 years old and a footballer who could become a legend,” he told reporters.

> “He’s a footballer with a great future, but we’re still seeing the Lamine of today. The Lamine of three or four years from now will be even better. If he’s healthy, we’ll have a great footballer, a legend.

> “Sometimes small details decide it \[the Ballon d’Or\]. I don’t know when he’ll win it, but he’ll definitely win. He’s destined to repeat this feat. We’ll have to see this season, but the most important thing is that he continues to work like the professional he is. Given this dynamic, he’s sure to win it.”
De la Fuente also spoke about picking Gavi following his return to action from his ACL injury.
> “It was a natural process. These injuries take time. Getting a medical clearance is one thing, and performance is another,” he added.

> “Gavi is at a high level, although he still has a long way to go and needs to keep working. He’s in this process and is now at a very high level. He’s a very important player for us. He’s coming to play, and we’re celebrating his inclusion on the roster.”
Gavi hasn’t played for the national team since he suffered the injury back playing for La Roja against Georgia. His return will be a big boost to the team and the Barca midfielder.
