Man United are set to sign a striker this summer as they aim to strengthen up front for Ruben Amorim.

The Red Devils have had one of the worst seasons in the history of the club this year, finishing 15th in the Premier League and without a European football spot next year.

Man United will almost certainly sign a striker this summer due to the poor form of the likes of Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund, however, United’s transfer budget is limited due to the amount of money that they have spent over the past few seasons.

It means that Ruben Amorim will have to be shrewd with buying and selling players, something that could land him a world-class striker.

Man United could swap Garnacho for Osimhen

The Italian side is reportedly still keen on Garnacho, and are also set to hold negotiations to sign the 20-year-old winger this summer, however, they could suggest a swap deal that would see striker Victor Osimhen heading to Old Trafford.

Osimhen is set to leave Napoli this summer after spending a season on loan at Turkish side Galatasaray. The Nigerian striker scored 36 goals in 40 games this season in all competitions.

Italian football pundit Enrico Fedele described Osimhen as “one of the best strikers in the world” when speaking to Goalball Live. He also said that the Nigerian international has “great physical qualities”.

An Osimhen swap deal would be cheaper than buying Delap

If United were to swap Osimhen with Garnacho, it would be a very shrewd way of conducting their transfer business. It would also be a much better solution to PSR issues than their other most likely striker signing.

It would be more financially beneficial for United to swap Garnacho with Osimhen, rather than signing Delap. Plus, Osimhen has more experience and has scored more goals than Delap this season.

The Englishman is also less of a physical number nine, something that United needs, especially considering that they are also expecting to add Matheus Cunha from Wolves, who will likely play as a number 10 for Ruben Amorim.
