Nottingham Forest are still licking their wounds after missing out on Champions League football at the weekend following a 1-0 defeat at home to Chelsea.
The Blues secured their place at Europe’s top table after a Levi Colwill goal gave Enzo Maresca every reason to be cheerful and leave Forest to ponder what might have been.
Nuno Espirito Santo has still enjoyed a brilliant season in the Forest dugout. In a short space of time, he’s transformed the team from relegation candidates to European certainties, and that must be lauded.
The Reds will be in the UEFA Conference League next season and now, a busy summer looks set to take place, with Forest likely to reshuffle the squad and ensure a better degree of squad depth for the 2025/26 campaign.

Nottingham Forest star Ramon Sosa nears City Ground exit
It’s been a funny old season for Sosa and it would appear as though he will be moving on in search of more frequent football ahead of next season, with a transfer seemingly in the offing.
ESPN Brazil are claiming that Palmeiras – the club where Forest signed Danilo from – are now very close to landing the winger from the Reds for a fee in the region of around £11 million.
Sosa started just once in the Premier League for Forest and that only came away at Everton when Murillo picked up an injury in the warm-up and Espirito Santo chose to rejig the formation.
Sosa produced the goods in the early rounds of the FA Cup, scoring and assisting in a 2-0 win over Luton Town, before getting himself on the score-sheet during a penalty shootout victory over Exeter.

Forest need better squad depth next season
Sosa scored away at Brighton in the Premier League during his maiden campaign playing in Europe but it’s fair to say that he never really got a proper crack of the whip at Forest.
Along with Jota Silva, it merely felt as though he wasn’t overly trusted by Espirito Santo and for several games over the course of the season, Sosa wasn’t even making the bench for Forest.
As a Paraguay international, he will want to be playing regular football and with Forest holding lofty ambitions, his chances of doing that with the Reds appear to be non-existent.
Sosa can leave Forest with his head held high, and as one player leaves, it represents a gap that the Reds must now fill in the coming months ahead of what promises to be an exciting campaign.
