Ipswich Town’s forward Liam Delap has emerged as one of the players in the summer transfer market. He has four Premier League giants circling around him. He had a brilliant campaign scoring 12 league goals. That is more than triple that of any of his teammates managed to do. Now the 22-year-old has real interest.

Manchester United, Everton, Chelsea, and Newcastle have all held talks with his camp in recent weeks. However, there’s one condition that could make or break any deal. He wants guaranteed game time.

Delap apparently wants to get regular minutes at his next club. He wants to be playing regularly to be able to make it into the England squad for the 2026 World Cup. He wants to finalize his future before moving to England U-21 camp lead up to UEFA EURO U-21, in June.

Man Utd in Pole Position as £30m Release Clause Awaits

Delap’s £30m release clause has his suitors primed to pull the trigger. But it looks like the Red Devils are pushing the hardest for him. Despite missing out on Champions League football, the club believes they’ve made a strong case to land the young striker. Added to that is the suggestion Delap is keen to move back to the north-west. There, he previously spent four years with Manchester City before joining Ipswich.

His deadline to decide comes just days before England U-21 coach Lee Carsley announces the final squad for the Euros. Meanwhile Ipswich are resigned to losing their star man. They still stand to make a solid return after signing him for £20 million last year.

Delap’s last match for the Tractor Boys was their recent loss to West Ham. And now all eyes are on his next move, with a decision likely any day.
