We begin at the home of the Premier League champions, where a price has been named for a young star in demand, attracting attention from a fellow Premier League giant.
The 3AM verdict: This would be a great move for Forest and for Quansah. Nuno will require a new centre-back if European interest in Murillo intensifies, while a move to a club on the up such as Forest, where a solid defence is a key part of their gameplan, could be a good choice for Quansah’s development. We could also see potential for this one to be a loan move with option to buy.
Newcastle United step up their pursuit of wanted young striker
It is crunch time for Liam Delap, who has a big decision to make with several high-profile Premier League clubs competing for the 22-year-old’s signature. According to reports by TEAMtalk, the Magpies are holding “showdown” talks with Ipswich Town star to persuade him that their project is the right one for him to join this summer.
Delap has reportedly been “impressed” by Everton’s pitch as potential suitors circle, leading to Newcastle levelling up talks with a decision on Delap’s part “imminent”. Manchester United and Chelsea are also strongly interested, and this transfer saga could yet go one of several different ways.
The 3AM verdict: Newcastle’s Champions League qualification certainly gives them an advantage in negotiations, along with the opportunity to play alongside Alexander Isak up front in one of the most exciting projects in the Premier League - but it all depends on what Delap is prioritising at this stage in his career. Should he demand a place in the starting XI every week, we think a move to Everton or United could still be possible.
Arsenal lining up shock swoop for Premier League winger
An alternative to Real Madrid’s Rodrygo has emerged for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the shape of Brighton & Hove Albion winger Kaoru Mitoma, who is also wanted by German champions Bayern Munich.
The 3AM verdict: Not a rumour we expected to see today, but it does make some sense. With Gabriel Martinelli’s progression slowing down in the last two seasons, Mitoma could make that left-wing position his own.
The Japan star has quietly gone about his business this season, reaching double figures for Premier League goals and even winning Goal of the Season on Match of the Day the other night. Rodrygo is still said to be Arsenal’s dream signing and should take priority if a deal is possible, but Mitoma would be a more than capable alternative.
