There were shocking scenes at Liverpool's Premier League title parade on Monday afternoon as a car collided with a number of pedestrians on Water Street, just after 6pm BST.
It was later revealed that a 53-year-old white British man from the Liverpool area was behind the wheel and had been arrested at the scene. In total, 27 people were taken to hospital with one adult and one child suffering serious injuries. A further 20 were treated at the scene, including four children.
Four people were trapped under the vehicle, including one child. The car was removed with haste so those trapped could receive medical attention as soon as possible. The police later stated that the incident was not being treated as terrorism.
