Liverpool Submit€100M Offer to Sign This German Playmaker: Can They Seal the Transfer or Will it Be Rejected?

Florian Wirtz Bayer Leverkusen

Florian Wirtz has made up his mind to snub Bayern Munich and join Liverpool and with a personal agreement in place, the Premier League champions will now have to negotiate a deal with Bayer Leverkusen.

Bayern were the favourites to land the playmaker but Wirtz has been impressed by Liverpool’s ambitious project. He has already told the Bavarians that he wants to play at Anfield next season.

Leverkusen’s managing director Simon Rolfes has also confirmed Liverpool’s interest in the midfielder and according to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have made their first formal offer of a little over €100 million even though Bayer Leverkusen value Florian Wirtz at around €150 million.

Will Bayer Leverkusen accept Liverpool’s offer?

Liverpool know fully well that Bayer Leverkusen value him at €150 million and they are just testing the waters with their first offer.

Florian Wirtz is one of the most sought-after midfielders in European football right now and there’s no way the German side will agree to give such a massive discount.

However, because the 22-year-old has made up his mind to leave in the summer, Leverkusen cannot afford to be too hard in their negotiations either.

Liverpool have the time and money to secure this deal and in the end, we think Die Werkself will agree to a transfer once the Reds agree to pay around €130 million, including add-ons. Wirtz is currently valued at €140 million so there’s no need for the club to give a discount but Bayer will know fully well that apart from Liverpool not many clubs can afford to pay such a premium transfer fee.

Manchester City were also interested in signing the midfielder but they backed off because of financial concerns. Bayern Munich are also unlikely to agree to pay anything more than €120 million. In such a scenario, it will make little sense for Bayer Leverkusen to remain rigid with their demands.

Ideally, Liverpool will want to wrap up this transfer before the Club World Cup begins but we can all see that it is only a matter of time before Florian Wirtz joins the EPL champions.
