Manchester United are showing interest in Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo ahead of the summer transfer window, Fabrizio Romano has revealed.
The Red Devils are close to making Wolves star Matheus Cunha their first offseason signing and aim to bring in another versatile forward to play behind the new number nine next season.
Ruben Amorim’s side are reportedly seeking players who can make an ‘instant impact’, and Mbeumo fits the profile well, having just completed his career-best season at Brentford, scoring 20 goals in 38 appearances.
United are believed to be full of admiration for the Cameroonian winger and have already held talks with Mbeumo over a potential move to Old Trafford, as his Brentford contract is set to enter its final 12 months this summer.

Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel, revealed that Mbeumo is ‘really appreciated’ by Man United after his standout season at Brentford:
“I can also confirm that Man United appreciate Bryan Mbeumo at Brantford, a player who did fantastic with 20 goals this season in the Premier League.
“Top player, really big mentality, also fits what they want to do in the strategy at May United, so players who can be for the future, but also ready to make an instant impact to help Ruben Amorim for the new season.
“Cunha is like that: Premier League-proven, European experience, international player with Brazil, who knows how to handle pressure and knows how to add numbers, assists and goals.
“So that's going to be really important and then there is Bryan Mbeumo, because he is a player they appreciate.
“As I told you here on the channel, Man United want to add one more player behind the striker.”
Mbeumo, praised as ‘one of the best players in the Premier League’, is believed to be valued by Brentford at around £50m, with just over a year left on his contract.
The 25-year-old, who joined the Bees from Troyes in 2019, is likely to be on the move this summer, although Brentford hold an option to extend his deal by a further year to help protect his value.
Man United are now close to making a move for Cunha official, as they are expected to pay his £62.5m release clause in instalments.
The Brazilian forward is believed to have reached a verbal agreement over a move to Old Trafford and will sign a deal until June 2030, with an option for a further season.
